Joys of Travel

Well, another flight, another hiccup. My flight was canceled this morning because of a snow storm in Denver (my connection). So up to the gate I go. Of course the only flight they can get me on is later in the day. Mind you I went to bed at 10:30pm last night, got up at 1:40am to drive about 2 hours north to Dayton Ohio for this flight. Now I am sitting in the airport for a 12:45pm flight that will get me into Portland at 6:35pm. My original flight would have had me there at 10:16am. So I am missing my train, missing out on last minute shower planning with Amanda's mom and just general stuff like that. Ahhhh, the joys of travel. Thank heavens I have some movies, books, ds etc to keep myself entertained.

Impatient

Patience has always been an area where I struggled. Right now I am impatient with many things.
1. What will my schedule be next quarter...enough stalling people. You know how many people have failed and what clinical groups have room. So lets get going on getting me back in to the program.
2. Finding property in WA
3. Finding Nate a job in WA so we can move home sooner.
4. Starting to work as an RN. I can't wait!
There are more...but that is all I'm going to write about now.

Most are gross...what are people thinking?

So my Mom was pointed to this website. Really quite gross. There are a few more normal dishes mixed in, but most make you wonder what people are thinking. Who comes up with this stuff?

A few examples of gross...


Way too much sugar. Called the Icingcano-A brownie layer topped by a layer of chocolate cake, a layer of red velvet cake, smothered in Oreos mixed with frosting, rice krispies, marshmallow fluff, meringue, and chocolate pudding.



And then meat overload with the Bacon-Copia: A bacon horn stuffed with 20 hot italian sausages, 1 pound of scrapple, 4 pork chops, 1 black pudding sausage, and 1 white pudding sausage, pepperoni and salami.

There are some kinda cute ones that don't immediately make you think extreme anything such as the Bacon Cheese Turtleburgers. Patties covered with cheese wrapped in a bacon weave with a hot dog for the head, legs and tail...

Disappointment

So, the plans are changing somewhat...I found out that I won't be eligible for the Overlake Residency as soon as I thought. Because of my graduation date, I won't be eligible for starting their residency program until March of 2011. They also prefer BSN graduates. I would love to get started on that, but I am afraid that I wouldn't be eligible to start that until I have an active license. See the catch 22. Here goes some more research...

Our Attempts for a Family (Pack) Photo :)

 

Life is never boring with our Aussies. We were trying to get a photo of us with our dogs all together. The only other one we have is a Christmas photo with Santa. It was an adventure. Lots of flubs and a few ok ones. Enough trying for tonight. Only so much you can take...what with Mia growling at the camera as the flash charges, Kali and Brisbane barking because Mia is growling. :) And all the dogs not wanting to be on the couch all together. Ahhh, I want to remember all this. So what brought this about? Our friends the Hefts moved away. They were in my small group Bible study and we decided that each family would make a couple of scrapbook pages for them and put together a book. It's been a lot of fun. I do enjoy scrapbooking, although I haven't done as much of it lately as I would like to. Nate and I still have 2 or 3 scrapbooks to work on. Well, off I go to finish said pages.

Our Furbabies

Brisbane turned 10 this year, Kali turned 8 and Mia turns 3 in April. I can't believe how time flies. They are going to be having some crazy adventures and be very confused this year.

New Year, So Many Changes

So we are joining the blogging world. There are so many things going on and changing in our lives this year. We are hoping to get back to the Seattle area after I graduate from my last 2 quarters of nursing school. I can't believe we are soooo close.
I am about to restart school after a year absence and I can't wait. It is going to be a busy several months. I leave in a few weeks for Amanda's wedding shower. I will finally get to help her with some wedding prep. I am very excited. We haven't seen each other in forever! I'm so happy for her and Dan. As soon as I get back from the shower I have a week to get ready for classes and then I start on April 5th!
In May I am going to try to get to VJ's boot camp graduation at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. I am so proud of him. I know this is not an easy course.
In June I have 2 weddings to attend. Amanda's and Christa's. It will be nice to see everyone. And Natters is so cute. They were just up to visit and we took Nats to the aquarium. It was so funny to watch her kick her legs, wave her arms, try to reach the fish or lick the fish. :)
Amidst all of this, we are looking into selling our house here in KY, packing, job searching, land or house hunting in the Seattle area. So it is a busy several months.
The Furbabies are doing well. Brisbane and Kali are very intent on critter hunting in the yard while Mia tries to figure out what they are up to. She's not sure she wants to participate.
Well, back to cleaning, laundry, and studying....
