Day 2 Halloween

A new morning, a good nights sleep. The dogs woke us with the sun and I crawled out to a very cold, crisp morning. I let the dogs take care of what they needed and then got Nate up. Our neighbors were kind enough to share their morning fire with us and share a cup of coffee with Nate as in our hurry to leave the house, the truck and car were not packed with the best order and things were difficult to get to. That is a part of camping that I love...neighbors sharing and getting to know one another so quickly. It's a special community in a campground.
Nate did take a few pictures of our first ever campground together.













We then hit the road to head to Aunt Thelma's in Butler, MO. I took the lead on this one and Nate said it was like there was a fire under my rear. I wanted to make it to her place to have lunch with her and Phylis Jo. We did make it for lunch after driving on some remote roads. We took Hwy's TT, T, and A to name a few. It was so beautiful driving past the farms and the scenic trees. Went past one farm that had a humungous tree with a building to get up to it and get the fruit off of it. It reminded me of a tomato tree that was at Disney's Epcot park.
We made it to Aunt Thelma's later than we had planned and ended up staying longer than we thought we would. It was such a nice visit. We got the grand tour of her house after a lunch prepared by Phylis Jo. So sweet. The dogs even had a nice spot in her side yard right off the dining area so they could see us.







From Aunt Thelma's we headed for Arkansas...




where we stopped at Norma's for pizza and to pick up some firewood before heading to our campground for the next few days. We decided on Withrow Springs State Park. Nate's gps took us in the long windy way and we almost had deer for a another days dinner as one jumped out about 20 feet in front of Nate's truck. We set up camp in the dark again, thank goodness for an easy tent. Visited for a few with Darrel, Christa, and Natali. After they left we went to bed exhausted; making sure that Mia was warm....
